  • The use of narrative elements and therapeutic mirrors
  • The conscious and purposeful contextual use of nature elements in a counseling process
  • Selection and management of animals. Enrichment of collective and individual habitat.
  • Human and animal health and safety criteria.
  • Legal criteria.

The methodology

Counseling through animals is a methodology that seeks to work causally in a counseling context purposely designed to enable a restoration of existential trust.
The methodology itself is universal and applicable/translatable to any target group. However, this course aims to emphasize the involvement of animals with children, adolescents and adults with psychosocial problems.

The training will pay particular attention to

The welfare of the animals – within the vision of this training – is of equal importance, as the assistance goals of the clients. We work within an ecocentric vision. Animals that play along in this story :
Dogs
Horses
Donkeys
Goats
Sheep

The training profile

The training in counseling work with animal assistance is an interactive course in which each student – based on the theoretical offerings – chooses his or her own angle of approach and has to work it out substantively and practically within an existing assistance framework. We also deliberately choose an ecocentric perspective.
